WILL WITTEN PLAY
Jason Witten, from Tennessee, has played for the Dallas Cowboys since 2003. He will be 36 on May 6, 2018 and has had many accomplishments while playing for America’s team. 1152 receptions and 12,448 yards giving him 10.8 ypc. When you mention great tight ends such as Dave Casper, Todd Christensen and Heath Miller, it’s difficult to not think of Jason Witten. He has carved himself in not only Cowboy history, but in NFL history as one of the great tight ends of all-time.
As opposed to only preparing for the 2018 NFL season, Witten has a new decision to make. Will he play? The Dallas Morning News is reporting that ESPN has offered Witten up to $4.5 million annually to be one of the new figures on MNF Monday Night Football. Witten currently makes $1.05 million a year with the Cowboys and has the potential to earn another $750,000.00 in bonuses.
It is reported that Witten will make his decision soon and that Jason Garrett if trying to convince him to play. Witten has stated recently that he feels his body is in shape and that he has a few years left. Regardless, it will be an end of another era for the Cowboys if Witten decides to make the move into broadcasting, just as his old team mate Tony Romo did.
