Bryan Moore had the lone goal of the second period with his 19th of the season. A two-on-one odd-man rush resulted in the lead goal for Allen. Jared Bethune had the first of two helpers on the night. The Americans outshot Wichita 16 to 7 in the second frame.

Thomas Frazee scored his third with Allen, and 14th of the season at 3:11 of the third period setup by Jared Bethune. The score would remain that way until the final minute of play when Zach Pochiro fired a puck into the open Wichita net. It was a power play goal for Pochiro, his 17th of the year unassisted.

Jake Paterson was the best player on the ice stopping 32 of 33 Wichita shots. It was Paterson’s first start since having his six-game winning streak snapped in Colorado. Nicholas Miglio, Eagles forward  said “I always love coming to Allen, Because my family drives up from Boerne, TX to our games in Allen.” Miglio was born in San Antonio and has been skating since he was around 6 years old.

The Eagles landed yesterday in Allen and they are ready to play. After talking with several Eagles players, it is apparent that they are very excited to have clinched and feel some pressure is released, but the Eagles, by no means, are not underestimating the Allen Americans. Regardless of their standing, the Eagles are looking to win this weekend in order to keep the momentum going into the playoffs. Several Eagles players feel that they will be playing Allen in the playoffs. Given the respect Colorado has for the Americans indicates to that we need not listen to the pundits and naysayers, as they are not on the ice. The players who witness the competitiveness of their opponent are the true scale as to their competitors will to win.

Nicholas Miglio, Eagles forward  said “I always love coming to Allen, because my family drives up from Boerne, TX to all our games in Allen.” Miglio was born in San Antonio and this is as close to home as he gets all season.
