Texas Revolution debuts Sunday in Frisco
Football has arrived in north Texas, as the Texas Revolution season starts Sunday at Dr. Pepper Arena in Frisco, Texas. This venue hasn’t hosted professional indoor football since the Frisco Thunder called the building home in 2008.
The NTX Savages from the Champion’s Edge Indoor Football League will take on the Revolution in their Frisco debut game.
Last years quarterback Chris Dixon did not return. Dixon, a three-time IFL MVP and member of the IFL Hall of Fame led the Rev’s to the championship last year. He will be replaced by two new quarterbacks – Brandon Crawford, an indoor/arena football journeyman and Richard Adkins from the semi-pro Arlington Longhorns, winners of three championships. Both will see significant play time on Sunday.
CIF Rookie of the Year Michael Dyer did not report to camp. He’s taken a new job outside the sport.
As for the run game, healthy Darius Fudge and Revs vet Jordan Brown will take the helm on the ground.
Texas has also picked up former Wichita players LB Jason Catchings and WR Jarrel Kelley during the off-season to boost both units. Kelley won Championships in Wichita in 2013, 2014 and 2016.
