Americans ready for KC

The Allen Americans are now in Kansas City and start a two-game road trip tonight against the Mavericks. Watch the game on ECHL TV or listen live on the Mixlr app. Puck drop is 7:05 p.m. CST tonight.

The Americans enter tonight’s game losers of five of their last six games. The club will be playing shorthanded, with just 17 players on the trip. Allen lost both Colby McAuley and Alex Schoenborn to the San Jose Barracuda this week. Miles Liberati will move up front to play forward on the Americans third line.

Alex Schoenborn

Stephon Williams, who suffered an upper body injury in the Americans last game against Utah, is not available this weekend and an emergency goaltender is expected to be announced in the ECHL transactions this afternoon.

The Americans enter tonight’s game one point ahead of Tulsa for the final playoff spot in the Mountain division, with a game in-hand. Starting tonight, 8 of the next 10 games for Allen will be on the road. The Americans are 12-14-0-1 away from home this season.

“We know what we have to do to get things turned around,” said Americans forward Bryan Moore. “This is a really tight group. We know things aren’t where we want them to be on the ice at the moment, but we all believe we’ll get it fixed. The expectations in Allen are always big. That will never change.”
