They’re Back (Asuchak & McAuley)
The San Jose Barracuda have reassigned forwards Spencer Asuchak and Colby McAuley to Allen.
Spencer Asuchak, has been a part of five of the nine seasons of Allen Americans Hockey. The native of Kamloops, BC has 12 points in 22 games this year with the Americans. He played in six games with the Barracuda during his call-up.
Colby McAuley, is in his first season with Allen. The undrafted free agent has played in 19 games with the Americans this year and has 14 points. He played his junior hockey under former Americans Assistant Coach Richard Matvichuk, at Prince George of the Western Hockey League.

Overall record: 20-13-4-1 45 points- Fourth overall in the Mountain Division.

Wednesday, January 10th vs. Utah – 6-3 Win
Allen, Texas – Alex Guptill netted the second hat trick of the season, as the Allen Americans beat the Utah Grizzlies 6-3 at Allen Event Center. The Americans used special teams to their advantage going 2 for 5 on the power play. Jeremy Brodeur stopped 28 of 31 shots to earn the victory.
Friday, January 12th @ Tulsa – 5-3 Loss
Tulsa, Oklahoma – The Tulsa Oilers broke open a close game in the second period scoring three straight goals on their way to a 5-3 victory over the Allen Americans. ECHL All Star Conner Bleakley scored two goals to lead Tulsa. Marcus Basara, Gary Steffes and Eric Roy were the goal scorers for Allen.
Saturday, January 13th @ Tulsa – 7-2 Win
Tulsa, Oklahoma – Americans All Star representative David Makowski had four helpers, while Bryan Moore added three as the Allen Americans defeated the Tulsa Oilers 7-2 at BOK Center. Allen knocked Tulsa starter Jake Hildebrand out of the game in the second period as he would allow 5 goals on 21 shots. Stephon Williams stopped 33 of 35 shots for Allen to earn the win.
Monday, January 15th vs. Tulsa – 2-1 Loss
Allen, Texas – Kyle Kessey’s third period shorthanded goal proved to be the game winner as the Tulsa Oilers defeated the Allen Americans 2-1 on MLK Day in Allen. Neither team found the back of the net until the second period when Dylan Hubbs scored his 7th, at 2:40 of the second period. Allen responded later in the frame as Eric Roy found Bryan Moore for his team-leading 13th of the season. Unfortunately for the Americans, that would be their only goal in a 2-1 loss to the Oilers.
The Americans return to action on Friday night in Indianapolis against the Indy Fuel. The next home game is on January 24th when the Americans host Rapid City.
